When we are taking care of a child going for surgery, never tell the child that ‘they won’t feel anything, that they will be put to sleep.’ Some children might have a ‘Tommy,’ a cat or a dog who was taken away ‘to put to sleep’ and who never came back. Children are afraid of the use of this phrase. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
Feeling empty
Now that I have written the last word in the new novel, I am resting for a while. Most authors take a break then go for a second look. I am undertaking a short story challenge this month, titled ‘Nails.’
